Chicken and Havarti Sandwiches

Chicken and Havarti Sandwiches are a favorite open-faced sandwich in my family, not only because they taste so good but because they are also extremely quick and easy to make.

For those that are vegetarian (or if you just don’t feel like eating chicken), try replacing the chicken with sliced tomatoes or grilled eggplant.

Chicken and Havarti Sandwich
Serves: 4

Time: 20 minutes

Ingredients:

2 chicken breasts

1 baguette or other bread loaf

1 package pesto sauce

1 block Dill Havarti Cheese, sliced

Directions:

Cook chicken with a little garlic salt and pepper to taste on stove top or in oven. Once slightly cooled, cut into bite-sized pieces. Slice baguette length wise in half and then into sandwich-sized pieces. Set oven to broil on high. Place sliced bread on baking sheet and place in oven for minutes until just toasted. Once toasted, spread pesto sauce over the bread, place cut chicken on pesto-coated bread, and set sliced cheese on top of chicken. Place assembled sandwiched back in the oven until cheese is mostly melted (but make sure it’s not melted off the chicken or bread). Serve and enjoy!
